La Follette
Sangiacomo Vineyard Pinot Noir (Sonoma Coast) 2010
92 points | $40 | Red

The 2010 Pinot Noir Sangiacomo Vineyard wafts from the glass with sweet tobacco, leather, incense, scorched earth, plums and dried cherries. An exotic, beguiling wine, the 2010 is loaded with personality. Savory herbs, cedar and tobacco reappear on the finish, followed by a hint of orange peel that adds an attractive exotic flair. This is another gorgeous wine loaded with complexity and nuance.

Classy and delicious, this shows all you could ask for in the way of flavors of ripe tropical fruit and rich oak, with a buttery, creamy texture. With bright acidity and a firm minerality at its center, it's also structurally balanced and elegant.  - S.H.
